Pip has experience in district and regional resource management matters, biosecurity and local government matters, including planning, resource consents and enforcement.  Pip has particular expertise in resource management related due diligence in commercial matters, including farm and property transactions.

  • Acting for submitters on proposed plan changes, including drafting submissions, reviewing evidence and appearing at hearings.
  • Successful application to extend the lapse date of a resource consent for a motel development.
  • Advising on the procedure for establishing a regional pathway management plan and a regional pest management plan under the Biosecurity Act 1993.
  • Acting for the Canterbury Regional Council during the development of Plan Change 4 and Plan Change 5 to the Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan.
  • Acting for the Canterbury Regional Council during the development of the Navigation Safety Bylaw 2016.
  • Appearing in the High Court on a successful appeal of a procedural decision of the Environment Court.
  • Pre-sale environmental due diligence and assistance with project management of the sale of a large farm in Canterbury.
