We are also able to advise clients on steps that can be taken to ensure compliance and avoid the risk of regulatory intervention.
Our specialist expertise spans the full range of criminal cases from driving offences right through to homicide (and everything in between). With a wealth of experience in complex, sensitive and high-profile cases, we are able to provide a comprehensive and efficient service. We pride ourselves on an excellent track record in providing the best possible outcome for our clients, whether at a defended trial or through negotiation with prosecuting authorities. We understand the stress and anxiety that come with criminal proceedings and work closely with clients to ensure their needs and concerns are met at every step of the process.
The team at Wynn Williams has a clear understanding of the regulations governing New Zealand industry and is able to utilise this knowledge to provide advice on effectively avoiding the risk of regulatory intervention. Where the matter has already escalated to investigation or prosecution, we are able to assist in representing clients in their response or defence to achieve the best result. We also have broad experience in acting for regulatory bodies (including government departments and regional councils) in bringing prosecutions across all areas and industries and have proven successes in this capacity.
Wynn Williams currently prosecutes disciplinary proceedings on behalf of the New Zealand Law Society and also represents private clients in proceedings before other disciplinary bodies. Having gained considerable experience in this field our lawyers are able to offer a specialised service, either in prosecuting on behalf of professional disciplinary bodies or in defending individuals (including, for example, teachers, doctors, nurses, and licensed building practitioners) who become the subject of disciplinary attention. Our lawyers appreciate that these proceedings can have a negative impact on reputation and/or business and understand the importance of dealing with the matter sensitively and efficiently.
