Holly Weston

LLB, Associate

Holly is an associate in the Dispute Resolution Team assisting Shane Campbell and Josh Taylor.  With more than 5 years’ experience in civil litigation, Holly has particular expertise in the law of tort, insolvency, construction disputes and claims against estates. She has also been involved in insurance disputes, relationship property matters and intellectual property matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Holly was junior barrister in a Christchurch-Barrister’s Chambers. She has appeared as junior counsel in the Supreme Court, and in the High Court on a number of complex insolvency matters.  She has further appeared in the Court of Appeal.
Holly is a panel member on the newly formed Racing Integrity Board, and previously the Judicial Control Authority for Racing.

Recent Projects

  • Appearing as junior counsel in the Supreme Court on a matter concerning the assignability of debt and securities.

  • Appearing with a speaking role in the Court of Appeal seeking to challenge the “highly offensive” test in the breach of privacy tort.

  • Appearing in the High Court on a number of complex insolvency matters with a focus on the performance and functions of liquidators and receivers.
