We have been providing updates on the various national regulations and policy documents that are currently open for consultation. However, things are changing each day and many priorities have shifted as we deal with the impacts of COVID-19. As a result, your teams may be necessarily more focused on response and recovery than on business as usual at this time.
To assist, the Ministry for the Environment has extended the consultation timeframes for the proposed National Environmental Standards for the Outdoor Storage of Tyres (
NES-OST) and proposed amendments to the National Environmental Standards for Air Quality (
NES-AQ). In addition, the Ministry of Transport has extended the consultation timeframe for the draft Government Policy Statement on Land Transport for 2021/22 – 2030/31 (
GPS 2021).
- Submissions for the NES-OST are now due by 8 April 2020.
- Submissions for the GPS 2021 are now due by 11 May 2020.
- Submissions for the NES-AQ are now due by 31 July 2020.
