The firm welcomes two senior lawyers to the firm before Christmas: Andrew Watkins and Mike Doesburg.

Andrew Watkins is a nationally recognised and highly respected relationship property lawyer and will be joining the national Dispute Resolution Team.  Andrew will join the partnership early in the new year, increasing its numbers to 21 partners.  He starts at the firm on 1 December and will be based in the Christchurch office.

Andrew has been involved in many high-profile cases, he regularly provides media comment nationally on issues relating to family law and has presented at numerous seminars.  Having completed courses in advanced negotiation and advanced mediation at Harvard, he has conducted over 70 successful mediations throughout his career and is an advocate for alternative dispute resolution.

Mike Doesburg is another highly regarded lawyer and is a finalist for Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year at the NZ Law Awards taking place on 15 November.  Mike will join the national Resource Management Team as a senior associate based in the Auckland office.  He starts at the firm on 19 November.

Mike has specific experience advising on infrastructure, industrial, residential and coastal projects, along with experience dealing with complicated district and regional planning matters.  Mike also specialises in local government and public law, including liquor licensing and alcohol policy.

The firm is very excited to welcome both of these outstanding lawyers to our growing firm, continuing to build on the strength and depth of our knowledge and expertise.
