Wynn Williams and the University of Canterbury’s School of Law, recently hosted a book launch for the new edition of
Todd on Torts (formerly
The Law of Torts in New Zealand). The special occasion was celebrated at Wynn Williams offices in central Christchurch by local judges and others from the legal profession as well as the book’s publishers, Thomson Reuters and faculty of the Law School.
The principal author, Professor Stephen Todd, is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities on torts law. He is a Professor of Law at the University of Canterbury and also acts as a consultant to law firm Wynn Williams. Attending the evening, he spoke about the new release and provided guests with the opportunity to obtain a signed copy of the book. Professor Todd said he “enjoyed the opportunity to speak briefly about interesting developments in the law that are covered in the new edition”. The book, now in its 8
th edition, retains its status as the definitive work on the law of torts. It has an authoritative reputation and is frequently cited in decisions of the courts throughout New Zealand.
Wynn Williams National Managing Partner, Philip Maw also attended the book launch and spoke about Professor Todd’s long association with the firm, the Law of Torts, and the University of Canterbury. In congratulating Professor Todd on the publication of his new edition, he observed that it is now officially titled what everyone had already been calling it, and he welcomed the new book.
