Nic has been a member of the national Dispute Resolution Team for four years after completing his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Canterbury.
Nic works primarily with Jeremy Johnson and Richard Hern on complex commercial disputes. He regularly advises clients on matters concerning insolvency, insurance, trusts, defamation and regulatory issues and regularly appears as both sole and junior counsel in the Family Court, District Court and High Court.
Nic’s busy practice saw him promoted to associate after only two years at the bar. He credits this to the satisfaction he gets from working hard to allow his capabilities as a lawyer to advance his clients’ interests.
When he is not busy advising clients Nic’s legal hobby interest is Sports Law. He has advised local and national sports organisations on selection issues for their athletes and has assisted with the implementation of formal governance policies. Nic regularly writes sports law articles, is a member of ANZSLA and in 2017 was selected as a member of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union judicial committee.
